Transform Ready Made Curtains to Custom Drapery

We are ready for winter to be over, how about you?  Today it’s another cold snowing day in Utah. While it cold outside, it’s a great time to work on our list of projects. Today we’d like to share how we transformed a pair of Ikea Ingert curtains into custom drapery for the master bedroom. Initially we had made burlap drapery for the master, there are pictures of them all over Pinterest and though it added a great texture element to the bedroom, and the look was fantastic, however burlap sheds and the velvet chairs in the bay window were constantly…

DIY Upholstered Headboard Tutorial

January always brings out a desire in me to clean, organize and refresh my house, maybe its the longing for spring. The full first week of the new year however, I caught a miserable cold, so I spent much of the week in bed. Now that I’m recovered and can think coherently I’d like to share a tutorial of refinishing my bed. Part of this tutorial has been recreated, the bed was originally purchased 6 years ago at a consignment shop.  I don’t even have an actual before photo of what it looked like. I did however find one that was…

DIY Industrial Light Fixture

Hey there!  Often I feel that when a space is designed the importance of the light fixture may be overlooked.  Each fixture in our home was the basic builders grade, in other words BORING!  This was no exception in this cool industrial teen bedroom.  I mean, I guess if you wanna be nitpicky about it, the existing light did serve its purpose, it did provide the space with ample lighting, it was just an eyesore.  But in my home, looks are pretty much as important to me as functionality, (insert my Hubby rolling his eyes at me!) so this room was…

Dated Den to Fabulous Kitchen

I'm so thrilled with the way this kitchen turned out. I had it all pictured in my mind and to see it come to fruition is thrilling. I remember the day the cabinets arrived, I was just giddy with excitement! I couldn't stop taking pictures and texting them to everyone, the poor installer I'm sure wasn't too thrilled that I kept clicking photos of him. Let's take a look of what it looked like before. The original kitchen was just off the entryway and was quite small. There was only 1 large upper cabinet, 1 upper corner cabinet, a couple of…

Fail to Fabulous Bathroom Tile Tutorial

Let's be honest here, projects do not always go as I have it pictured in my mind. In this tutorial we will see the agony of defeat and then the elation of success. To start with, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this bathroom, but I knew the pink and green tile had to go. So I came up with this brilliant idea (or so I thought) to carefully remove the 2 rows of pink and green.  So with my trusty multi-tool equipped with a grout removal blade I proceeded to carefully remove all the grout around…

DIY Wagon Shelf

Hey Guys it's me again! Ready for another tutorial? If you peruse Pinterest you've likely seen lots of fun ways to upcycle old wagons. I've seen multiple variations of repurposed tables and shelves and I couldn't wait to get my hands on one! I wanted to have a display shelf for all of the little car treasures Mr. A has. It took me a while to find the perfect wagon. Not because there was a shortage of vintage wagons around, but because I am a frugal gal. I'd keep my eye out for one searching the local classifieds and thrift stores,…
