We have found that you spot the best finds when you are not looking for them. Does that ring a bell with you?
Steph had been looking for a chunky beam for her fireplace mantle for some time. She finally located one in Park City, which is about an hour drive from our homes.
We loaded up the 2 youngest kids in the vehicle and made the trip to Park City to get the beam (which was about 6 1/2′ long). We had also arranged to meet up with another gal from FaceBook marketplace to pick up 3 pendant lights as well.
You can just imagine how full the back of Steph’s vehicle was at this point. A huge beam, which turned out to weight 150 lb. (somehow Steph & I were able to load it ourselves), 3 orb pendant lights and 2 kids.
Steph suggested since we were in Park City, we should stop at the Restore Store. How could I turn down that idea? Of course, as I looked around I spotted the 3 farmhouse bar stools.
Immediately, I had a vision of what I would do with them. Shoot, how could I pass them up when they were only $12 a piece. The wood was in good condition, however the upholstery was filthy and ripped.
Checking with the clerk I found out they would hold them for me until Monday. So that was my plan, I would just need to make another trip to Park City. However, Steph must be some sort of contortionist. She pulled everything out and rearranged things until we had it all inside her Durango.
Let’s get to it and we’ll show you how we made over these rough and dirty farmhouse bar stools.
