The big question is “Can I actually install tile myself and have it look good!”
While there are times hiring a professional may just be the right thing to do.
However, have you ever gotten a bid from a tile setter?
I’m always shocked, because I’m so frugal.
Certainly, I’m always looking for ways to do it myself, so my dollar will stretch a little further.
Recently, we received a bid for installing tile in a shower, tub surround and floor and the bid was over $5000, just for labor.
Now after completing several tiling projects, I realize the amount of labor involved in a project like this and I totally understand the price.
But, I can do a lot with $5000, if I take the time to do the job myself.
Before you tackle a project like this, do your research and understand the amount of work it will be.
Some jobs are just more time consuming that you can imagine and I’ll admit it I’m a poor judge of time.
