Method
For the casserole
- Cut bread into 1" cubes. Place 1/2 in a greased baking dish. Cut cream cheese into 1" cubes. Place over bread. Top with berries and remaining bread.
- In a large bowl beat eggs, milk and honey. Mix well. Pour over bread. Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight.
- Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking.
- Cover and bake at 350℉ for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer or until golden brown and center is set.
For the syrup
- While the casserole is baking, make the syrup. In a saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch and cold water. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Add berries, reduce heat and simmer 8-10 minutes. Stir in butter until melted.
