Tis’ the season to be jolly, and what better way to spread the holiday cheer than with 21 Christmas gift wrap ideas that are as creative as they are charming.
Get ready to sleigh the gift-giving game with our ho-ho-holiday gift wrapping ideas.
From brown paper packages tied up with string (and so much more) to wrapping presents without boxes and turning your gifts into works of art.
Let’s jump in with a dash of DIY flair and a sprinkle of seasonal joy – because who said wrapping had to be the least exciting part of the holidays?”
Unique Gift Wrap Ideas
With all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, one of my favorite holiday activities is finding beautiful and unique ways to wrap presents.
One way is to reimagine the wrapping materials themselves.
Consider using unconventional materials like old maps, paper bags, comic strips, tea towels, or even scarves to wrap your gifts.
Then embellish these beautifully wrapped gifts with more than ribbon, try socks, a winter headband, paper straws or even a cookie cutter.
Not only does this make your gift a little more special, but it also brings a personal element to your gifts.
Another creative approach is to incorporate nature-inspired elements, like twigs, pinecones, or fresh greenery, into your gift wrapping.
Think outside the traditional wrapping paper box, and let your imagination run wild to create memorable and one-of-a-kind presents that stand out under the tree.

Brown Paper Packages
Wrapping gifts in brown paper adds a touch of rustic charm and simplicity to your presents.
This classic and understated choice not only provides a neutral backdrop but also serves as a versatile canvas for creativity.
Brown paper allows you to personalize your gifts with colorful ribbons, hand-drawn designs, or festive embellishments, making each present unique.
Fresh Greens
Try adding a sprig of fresh greens to your gift.
For our little tree I snipped a branch from my pine tree, trimmed off a few needles from the base and simply attached it to the package with hot glue.
Or make a ribbon tree by glueing ribbon in a zigzag pattern to your brown paper package.
Paper Straws
And one of my favorite gift wrap ideas is this paper straw star.
It’s simple to make and can be used as an ornament also.
First thread string or bakers twine through 5 paper straws and secure with a knot.
Then take the lower right corner and bring it up to the upper left corner.
It should look like this with a triangle at the top.
Then bring the lower ends up to the top of the triangle,
and place it under the top straw.
And then push the straws apart forming a star.
Then attach the star to your gift with bakers twine.

Simple Gift Wrapping Ideas Using Picks and Ornaments
Elevate your gift wrapping game with Christmas picks and ornaments to add some pizzaz.
Try attaching small ornaments or decorative Christmas picks to your gift wrap using colorful ribbons or jute.
Certainly your loved ones will love a gift embellished with a personalized Christmas ornament.
These embellishments not only make your gift unique but also transform your presents into charming keepsakes.
You can match the ornament to the theme of your gift or the recipient’s interests, creating a thoughtful and beautiful presentation.
All of our greenery, berry picks, candy picks and ornaments were purchased at Hobby Lobby.
Now’s a perfect time to stock up while they are all at least 50% off.

Creative Gift Wrapping Techniques
Creative gift wrapping techniques add an extra layer of excitement to the art of giving.
For instance take a simple brown paper lunch bag, fold in the corners forming a roof and sketch a simple gingerbread house with a chalk marker.
It’s so adorable!
Fancy Folds
Or try your hand with clever paper folds and wrap up a gift with pockets.
These pockets are perfect for holding embellishments and gift tags.
First cut your wrapping paper so that it’s about 3 times the width and 2 times the length of your box.
Fold up the bottom of your paper and tape to the box a few inches down from the top of the box.
Then push in the sides and crease, forming 2 angles.
Next, fold the top angle piece on the left side across the package and then the top angle piece on the right.
Repeat with the next angle piece on the left, followed by the right.
Fold the end of the right angle paper under to align with edge of the box and secure with tape.
And finally fold the edges of the top of the package and secure with tape.
And finally fill the pockets with greens, treats and a gift tag and tie with a pretty ribbon.
Reindeer Gift Box
Transforming a simple treat into a festive delight, try creating a DIY reindeer box to spread holiday cheer to your neighbors.
This fun little gift box is perfect for small gifts and will definitely put a smile our your recipient’s face.
Begin by cutting an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of kraft cardstock in half lengthwise.
Then fold it in half and crease with a bone folder.
Next fold in half lengthwise at each end to mark center.
Then score with a bone folder from the top center to the mid point of your cardstock.
Repeat on the opposite side and at the lower edge of the cardstock.
Fold on the 4 scored lines.
Fold the triangle box in half lengthwise, fill with treats or gift and then using a paper punch, make a hole in the lower point of the triangle.
Thread ribbon through the hole and tie into a bow.
Now it’s time to take this simple DIY box and make it look like an adorable reindeer.
For the antlers we used a wooden snowflake ornament from Hobby Lobby.
Take a utility knife or craft knife and a straight edge to cut through the snowflake, making a pair of antlers.
Attach the antlers with hot glue.
Another idea for the antlers would be to take a snowflake diecut and trim it into antlers as well.
Finally to complete your reindeer gift box, adhere googly eyes and a red pom pom nose.
This adorable reindeer-themed box not only adds a touch of whimsy to your treat or small gift, but also conveys the warmth of the season in a personalized and charming way.

Creative Gift Wrapping Ideas
Ditching traditional gift wrapping ideas, reimagine your gift presentation with a touch of whimsy using unexpected items.
Wrap a gift box with ribbon and secure with tape and then take a merry Christmas hair bow and clip it to the ribbon.
Try creating a playful bow with some fun graphic Christmas socks, that’s not only a stylish feel, but it’s also an additional gift.
Simply wrap your gift with bakers twine and place your Christmas socks on the package.
Tie the socks to the package just below the heel.
Then spread apart the socks to form a playful and cheery bow.
For another clever gift wrap idea, tie a knit headband to a package for a quirky alternative to a traditional bow.
These unconventional gift wrap ideas, not only showcases your creativity but also ensures that the wrapping becomes as cherished as the gift itself.
Fabric Gift Wrap ideas
Ramp up your gift-giving game with charming fabric gift wraps that go beyond the ordinary.
For the first gift, wrap in a festive tea towel and tie with jute, complete the theme with a gingerbread man cookie cutter.
The next gift wrap idea is a treat for anyone who loves to cook – simply attach a peppermint-shaped hot pad to your gift with ribbon.
Lastly, transform a tea towel into a gift basket with clever folds, creativing pockts to hold a baking mix and a mini rolling pin.
The easiest way to learn how to fold this tea towel basket it to take a look at our YouTube video.
All of the towels and hot pad were purchased at Hobby Lobby.
These fabric-wrapped gifts not only radiate thoughtfulness, but also offer a reusable and stylish alternative to traditional paper, making each present a gift within a gift.
Fancy Gift Wrap Ideas
Enhance your gift-giving game with a touch of elegance and sophistication.
Picture this: sumptuous satin ribbons cascading gracefully, wrapping your presents in a touch of luxury.
Choose a palette of muted metallics or classic monochrome for an understated yet opulent vibe.
Add a personal touch with embellishments like a gilded poinsettia, delicate prism ornament, vintage brooches or cameo ornament.
These fancy gift wrap ideas not only make a statement under the tree but also transform the act of giving into a true celebration of style and grace.
