These stunning easy-to-make cameo ornaments are sure to infuse your holiday season with a touch or class.
Are Cameos in Style?
Cameos are timeless pieces of jewelry and art with a rich history dating back to ancient times.
These carved gemstone or shell portraits, typically featuring a profile view and were originally created by the Greeks and Romans as symbols of social status and identity.
Over the centuries, cameos have evolved in style and purpose, adapting to the fashion trends of their respective eras.
Today, they remain a versatile and classic choice for those who appreciate both vintage and contemporary aesthetics.
The enduring appeal of cameos can be attributed to their exquisite craftsmanship, sentimental value, and the way they effortlessly blend with modern fashion.
Whether adorning a pendant, a brooch, or even incorporated into modern accessories like rings and earrings, cameos continue to make a statement.
They serve as a bridge between the past and the present, reminding us that some fashion trends truly stand the test of time.
In an era where individuality and self-expression reign supreme, cameos are a unique and stylish choice, appreciated by connoisseurs of art and history as much as by those who value the elegance of a bygone era.
When I see a cameo, I think of my grandma…
She loved to wear cameo brooches.
In fact, several years ago I took some of her brooches and made a few Christmas ornaments out of them.
I believe these cameo pieces for crafting from Totally Dazzled make stunning Christmas ornaments!
Can you think of another way of incorporating these beautiful cameos into your crafting?
We’ve used Totally Dazzled embellishments on our Easter Tablescape, DIY Glitter Ornaments, Bust Skull Decor for Halloween, updated a Vintage Lampshade, embellished Coffee Filter Flowers and embellished a Valentine Garland.
These embellishments are stunning and yet are so affordable!

Easy Christmas Ornament Supplies
First and foremost you are going to love how quick and easy these Christmas ornaments are to make.
They look high-end, like something you see in a fancy Christmas boutique.
I love the beautiful vintage look, that’s truly timeless.
The cameos come in four different finishes, but the antique bronze is my favorite.
To make these Christmas ornaments you’ll need Totally Dazzled Cameo embellishments, black disc ornaments, flat black spray paint, antique gold Rub ‘n Buff, ribbon and hot glue.
If you don’t want to buy ornaments, you can also paint old ornaments and then add the beautiful cameos and ribbon.
This is what we used:
- cameo/rhinestone embellishments
- black disc ornaments
- flat black spray paint
- antique Rub ‘n Buff
- hot glue

Gild Ornament Caps
I felt the ornament caps on my ornaments look cheap and flimsy, so a little makeover was in order.
First, remove the caps from the ornaments and poke the prongs into an old Amazon box.
Then give the ornament caps a coat of flat black spray paint.
Placing the prongs into the cardboard box kept them from blowing around while painting them.
Once the paint is dry to the touch, apply antique gold Rub ‘n buff to the ornament caps.
And then buff with a soft cloth.
Finally place the gilded caps on each ornament.

Embellish Ornament with Cameo
Use hot glue to attach the cameo to each ornament.
Place a large puddle of hot glue on the back of each cameo.
Then center and press the cameo onto the front of the ornament.
Because the ornament is slightly curved you’ll want plenty of glue to secure it.
