Dream Kitchen Ideas from the 2020 Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes
Touring the parade of homes is something we look forward to doing every year. It’s always refreshing to gather new decor and design ideas. As if we don’t already have long running to do list, we always manage to come home with even more ideas to implement in our own homes.
Arguably kitchens are the most important room in a home. But have you ever pondered why?
Household kitchens were once designed solely for preparing and cooking meals. However, over the last few decades the kitchen has become the main hub of the home.
The kitchen is the center of your day to day living. This is one area of the home in which every family member uses on a daily basis. Social gatherings even tend to congregate in the kitchen. In short, the kitchen is a space for creating memories and bonding with those we love.
In this gallery you’ll see beautiful dream kitchen ideas you’re sure to want incorporated into your own home.
Traditional Twist On Modern
Generally speaking, I tend to lean more toward the traditional look, but there’s something about this kitchen that captivates me.
The use of shaker style cabinetry creates a timeless look. These simple lines also add character in the crown molding.
Talk about luxury with these double ovens. I can only imagine the ease of preparing food for a large gathering. And that finish on these appliances! Matte white with brushed gold hardware. Aren’t they dreamy? I never thought I’d be drawn to white appliances again.
There’s also something about the contrast of light and dark that draws me in. The mix of pattern use with tile and stone along with the colors in this kitchen are divine.
Then there’s even just a hint of farmhouse with this amazing farmhouse sink and the open shelving. And did you notice the small touch of shiplap look on the vent hood? Are your wheels turning yet?
These kitchen ideas are not only dreamy, but offer a good mixture of blending multiple styles into one space.

Perhaps you’re drawn to a more neutral color scheme rather than one of high contrast.
This kitchen design similarly displays the timeless look of the shaker style cabinetry and vent hood with the modern crown moldings.
Now if these appliances don’t say high end, I don’t know what will. Just imagine the storage for party platters and serving trays galore.

Dreamy Farmhouse Kitchen Ideas
The kitchen ideas in this modern farmhouse are to die for!
Just look at the details of the cabinetry and the light natural wood tone. There’s so much character in this space!
Do you notice something familiar in this kitchen?
Yep…those matte white appliances to drool over! They really seem to go with many styles don’t they?
Even though this home was farmhouse all the way, notice the hint of modern in their choice of tile backsplash. It creates visual interest and dimension while reflecting light.
The same tile was carried over by the pantry with open shelving.
The mix of matte gold and black finishes really work well together in this space creating the perfect blend of a classy modern farmhouse.

Here’s another take on similar cabinetry. This light natural wood tone is light, airy and relaxing. If you’re tiring of white cabinetry, this is a great alternative. It’s not too heavy yet creates a calm atmosphere.
The counter to ceiling tile work really adds character to this space while reflecting light from each side of the room.

Clever Kitchen Design
I’m kind of partial to these kitchen ideas because this was one of my favorite homes we toured. I love everything about this space from the wall of windows above the sink, the bright white shaker style cabinetry and detailed crown molding.
Take a look at that amazing mill work! I love all the details from the curves in the vent hood design, the use of corbels and the stacked crown molding.
Reflective subway tile is also a lovely feature in this space! Installed in a herringbone pattern adds that custom feel.
Not only does this kitchen design have loads of counter space, the kitchen just keeps going!
Wrapping behind the wall is a second sink and dishwasher in this prep space. And who wouldn’t love to have this pass through from the garage to quickly unload groceries?
Not only is it convenient, but it’s concealed behind a cabinet door!
To the far right (I don’t know why we didn’t capture a photo!), there is floor to ceiling cabinetry panels that lead into a hidden pantry that extends behind the rest of the kitchen.
Talk about tons of storage and wiggle room in this kitchen! There’s no need for bumping into others while preparing food or doing the dishes.

Anyone else drawn to this floor to ceiling cabinetry? The fridge is concealed in the center cabinetry with loads of surrounding storage.
The detailed curves and seeded glass doors add so much character to this cabinetry.
This kitchen design takes prep space to a whole new level!
Nestled behind the kitchen with two entry points, this prep space offers a sink, dishwasher, fridge, oven, microwave and wine cooler.
