Traditional Red & Green Christmas Mantel Ideas

Decorating a Christmas mantel in classic red and green brings a timeless, cozy feel to your holiday decor.

I love how Toni layers evergreens across the mantel, with red and white berries along with festive ribbons.

She’s also hung classic red and white stockings and added twinkle lights creating a warm glow.

Coastal Christmas Decorating Ideas for Mantel

As you may know Steph loves all things coastal, and enjoys incorporating this look and feel into her Christmas decorating.

First she hangs burlap stockings embellished with sand dollars and starfish.

Then drapes fresh juniper boughs across her mantel and adds clear and white glass ornaments to mimic the feel of the ocean.

Lastly she’s tucks in tiny starfish into the boughs to complete her coastal look.

Fresh green juniper stems are placed on the mantle along with white and clear small glass ornaments and to complete the coastal Christmas mantle tiny starfish are added to the fresh greens. A tree advent calendar is placed on the right side and a drift wood wreath is hung on shutters over the mantle.

This beautiful coastal mantel piece is created by my friend Chloe.

Created with evergreen boughs, beautiful sea blue ribbon, along with blue and green ornaments and then embellished with seashells, starfish and seahorses.

Decorating a mantel with a TV presents a unique challenge.

The TV can dominate the space, making it difficult to create a festive and visually pleasing display.

One solution is to incorporate the TV into the design by flanking it with candlesticks and a little greenery to warm up the mantel.

Simple green pine stems and mercury glass ornaments are placed on the mantle with candle sticks flanking the TV.

Another option is to create symmetry and place decor on each side of the TV as Kayla has done with her Christmas mantel.

Another option is add art to your smart TV, then it becomes a part of the design.
