Budget Friendly Place Setting

Creating budget-friendly Halloween place settings doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style.

Always start by using items you already have, such as plain white dishes and enhance them with seasonal touches.

In our case we chose to layer thrifted gold rimmed plates on simple black chargers and for that festive Halloween vibe it’s topped with thrifted skeleton plates.

To add that elegant feel we placed a cloth napkin in a rhinestone and pearl napkin ring.

These are the same napkin rings we used for our Kate Spade inspired Easter tablescape.

You might also consider layering inexpensive black and orange napkins for a pop of color or even printed Halloween-themed place cards can instantly elevate your table without breaking the bank.

Table Cloth or Runner

To achieve this look, start with a lace tablecloth layered with black creepy cloth as a table runner.

I believe it’s the perfect start to an elegant yet spooky Halloween tablescape.

A white lace tablecloth is placed down the center of the table and topped with black creepy cloth, forming a table runner.

You might also consider a rich, dark tablecloth—whether in velvet, lace, or a simple black fabric—can create a dramatic, spooky backdrop for your place settings.

If you prefer a more subtle touch, use a runner in deep shades like burgundy, purple or black.

You can also layer fabrics for more depth, like placing a lace runner over a solid tablecloth. This simple addition instantly sets the tone for your Halloween theme, adding sophistication while keeping the decor cohesive and inviting.

Halloween Centerpiece

The Halloween centerpiece is the focal point of your table and sets the tone for the entire tablescape.

To achieve an elegant yet spooky vibe, opt for a striking centerpiece that combines dark, moody elements with subtle Halloween touches.

For our centerpiece we disassembled the torso of a life-size skeleton and placed it in a black pedestal bowl.

And to keep it upright, we surrounded it with dry black beans.

Then we embellished our skeleton torso with black birds and strands of vintage chandelier crystals.
